A Message to Parents
From Fred Rogers

Mr Rogers thanks those who grew up with him who are now parents and care givers.

 About five months before he died, Fred Rogers recorded this message to parents and caregivers who grew up watching Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

In addition, another page  is full of many many videos from Mr. Rogers. Find the ones that work for you, a parent meeting, a sweet time to share with a child or a new mother. These priceless words from a true childhood expert will hold their truth and value for all time. 

I wonder,
"Where are the Mr. Rogers, the Captain Kangaroos, 
the original Mouseketeers, the Roy Rogers,  
for today's children?" 

Children need role models and heroes.
The time is ripe for someone
to lead children with honor and care.

That every person in this world could feel the music they way this child feels it,
and shows it.

Listen: "Tubby the Tuba" with Danny Kaye as storyteller

 Danny Kaye is a storytelling master -
 run and get the kids so they can listen with you.

"Tubby the Tuba"

This popular children's song became a hit for Danny Kaye after he hosted his own CBS radio show in 1945. 
 

It tells the story of a tuba who played in an orchestra, but never got to play a melody - 

that is until he meets the bullfrog!

Kids will love when the orchestra joins Tubby with their waves of orchestration,
 as Danny says, "And they all played!"

As a child, I played Tubby's tuba solo song thousands of times - hauntingly beautiful.

This is a treasure! Our beloved Bill Martin shares his book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" with us in his own magical singing voice. Reminds me of the two weeks he spent teaching in my classroom in the 70s, a teasured time. All I can say is "treasure, treasure, treasure". Try not to cry when you listen.
